MATRIX TELECOM AND AMERICATEL ANNOUNCE PROMOTION OF NERMIN SELIMIC TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND MARKETING

Expanded Responsibilities include oversight of Americatel Wholesale Business Development, Matrix Marketing

DALLAS, TX AND ROCKVILLE, MD January 13, 2010 - Dallas, TX-based Matrix Telecom Inc, ("Matrix") operating as Matrix Business Technologies (http://www.matrixbt.com) and Trinsic, Powered by Matrix (http://www.trinsic.com) as a provider of voice and data services to Small and Medium Enterprise and residential customers across the United States, and its sister company, Americatel, http://www.americatel.net a Rockville, MD-based provider of telecom services to ethnic consumers and businesses in the United States and Canada and a wholesale voice services provider to facilities-based and switchless telecom resellers and wireless providers worldwide, today announced the promotion of Nermin Selimic to Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for both organizations, reporting to President and CEO Charles G. "Chuck" Taylor, Jr., effective immediately.

In this newly created position, Mr Selimic will continue to oversee all sales, marketing and product management responsibilities for the ethnic consumer markets sold under the Americatel and Startec Global Communications ("Startec") http://www.startec.com/ brands while assuming similar marketing responsibilities for Matrix. In addition, Mr. Selimic is now the lead executive at Americatel for all wholesale sales and business development activities, including the further expansion of its recently-announced Feature Group D wholesale voice services offering.

Prior to joining Americatel, Mr. Selimic led marketing functions for Startec in Germany. In 2005 he joined Startec's marketing team in the United States and was responsible for integrating Startec's American and Canadian marketing and sales teams. As a member of the M&A team he was also a lead executive responsible for negotiations which resulted in the acquisition of the firm in 2007 by Americatel, a Platinum Equity (http://www.platinumequity.com/) portfolio company. Since 2008 he has led Americatel's sales, marketing and customer service teams.

With nearly twenty years of sales and marketing experience, Nermin has held leadership positions in Europe, the United States and Canada and has managed operations in Australia.
